While looking for adults only static caravans, lodges, shepherd huts, etc we found many that looked promising
but turned out not to be in an adults only environment. We list here some that initially looked good but weren't.
Pollperro Retreats
Pollperro, Cornwall. Shame this shepherd hut site isn't adults only as it look really nice. 12+.
Wooldown Holiday Cottages
Bude, Cornwall. Refreshing honesty in the T&Cs: "[We, the owners] live on site and although we offer
“adults only” accommodation, we may have our own friends or family visiting or staying on-site that may include children
or babies".
Little Silver House
Umberleigh, Devon. Great shame, this one. Four adults-only shepherd huts in a hillside orchard, great.
But the annex attached to the owner's house accommodates a small child.
Ruby Country Lodges
Beaworthy, Devon. Some sites list this as an adults only park but it isn't.
Great Field Lodges
Braunton, Devon. Six luxury lodges designed for couples. But click Features then More and you'll see Cot Available.
Oh dear.
Wells Touring Park
Wells. Used to have lodges and chalets for rent, but chalets now gone and lodges are for sale and presumably therefore
site is no longer not adults only. Deleted from adults only page August 9th 2023.
BA5 1AJ.
Chilterns View
Wallingford, Oxfordshire. There are six lodges for just couples but unfortunately there's also a large lodge in
which children can stay. Great shame.
Forest View Retreat
Kidderminster, Worcestershire. Three lodges on the edge of Wyre Forest but
"No children under 15 unless by prior arrangement".
Beaconsfield Park
Upper Battlefield, Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The touring part of the park is adults only but the lodge and
static caravan part isn't.
New Lodge Farm
Corby, Northamptonshire. There are glamping pods and shepherd huts all with en suite facilities. The touring and
glamping field is 18+, but it's behind converted farm buildings that house a farm shop and cafe that are open to the
public. The field next door is also hired out for events, including to schools and colleges. A swim spa pool has recently
opened and is 18+. Tricky one.
Ewe Glamping
Braunston, Northamptonshire. There is one rather nice hut with full mod-cons and even a two person outdoor copper bath
and a fire pit that overlooks the Grand Union Canal. The hut is located in a field next to a farmhouse and the owners have two
small children. Your stay might be quiet and peaceful, but there again it might not.
Fields End Water
Doddington, Cambridgeshire. Allows children around the lakes if they are fishing.
Kings Forest Holidays
West Stow, Suffolk. Shame: this is a 15+ site.
Upthorpe Lodges
Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The website says adults only but enquiries reveal children under 1 year old are allowed.
Lode Hall Lodges
Downham Market, Norfolk. In the grounds of Lode Hall which hosts non-adults only events. Hoseasons has four
lodges bookable only by adults, though Google maps shows six lodges on the site. A don't know at best.
Choo Choo Moo
Harleston, Norfolk. Between Harleston and Bungay, these two Victorian railway carriages stand in a meadow near
Alburgh - a quintessential country village in the beautiful Waveney Valley. You could relax in a hammock and soak up the birdsong
except that the huts aren't adults only so there's no guarantee the other one won't have a noisy child.
Tipsy Tree
Crewe, Cheshire. One of the shepherd huts comes up on Google as adults only but one of the yurts for example says:
ideal for couples or families, our lovely Ryeland Yurt can accompany a maximum of 5 people.
So clearly not an adults only site.
Caistor Lakes
Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Twelve five star lodges but 'children are permitted to use the fishing lakes
on the complex and the tearoom as day visitors'.
Greenacres
Tuxford, Nottinghamshire. Oxymoronically: "We operate a strictly adults only campsite. However, home owners
occasionally may have young family members stay during the school holidays".
Janson Fishery
Elton, Nottinghamshire. Nice pods but it's a 12+ site.
Oxton Hill Hideaway
Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Supposedly adults only, but shepherd hut guests can bring a baby in a travel cot as
can touring caravan owners.
Caistor Lakes
Caistor, Lincolnshire. Sixteen lodges around lakes. No minimum age given, children may visit,
and children visiting to fish on the lake is encouraged.
Orchard Holiday Park
Boston, Lincolnshire. The static caravan part of the site is not adults only.
Walnut Lakes
Boston, Lincolnshire. This site is now 14+.
Abbey Farm Holiday Park
Ormskirk, Lancashire. "Adults only" but there's a children's play area for children that come and visit.
Springwood Lodges
Harrogate, Yorkshire. Only adults can book via Hoseasons, but it looks as if these lodges might share the same grounds as
Helme Pasture cottages which are not adults only.
A don't know at best.
Morndyke
Yorkshire. We accept children aged 12 years and over.
Meadow’s End Lodges
Lake District. Not adults only, lodges such as
this one
for four people allows children.
The Buteland Stop
Lake District. Two away from it all shepherd huts but unfortunately 12+.
Fox Lodge at Wood House
Consett, Co Durham. The lodge only sleeps two adults but shares the site with holiday cottages that allow children.
Garthside Farm Holidays
Brampton. Claims to be adults only, but on enquiring it's clear exceptions can be made and people can bring babies.
Holiday ruined if you happen to pick the week when the exception is screaming its head off next door.
Dolgoy Cottages
Cardigan. This takes the biscuit, how stupid can you get: "Did you know that Dolgoy Cottages is exclusively an
adult-only holiday destination? We welcome babes in arms (under 3 years of age)...". Unbelievably stupid.
The Laundry Retreat
Denbigh. Near the village of Llanrhaeadr and in the grounds of Llanrhaeadr Hall, what was the Hall's
laundry now has one adults only B&B bedroom and in the gardens are two luxurious roundhouses. However, there are
sometimes open garden events and it's not certain that the environment will always be child-free. So this is a maybe.
Craighead Howfs
Stirling. Muckle Howf, a large holiday home on site, welcomes children during main holiday times.
Cambridge Country Cottages No age limit specified
Honeypot Hideaways 14+
The Farmyard Yeovil Isn't adults only
Beaconsfield Farm Somerset 13+
Sunridge Retreats not adults only
Acorn Glade Glamping York Yurts and a lodge, 18+ and very nice but communal cooking, composting lavatories etc so
doesn't meet our 'mains services' criterion.
