Little London Bed and Breakfast
Swansea. About fifteen miles north of Swansea on the banks of the River Tawe at Ystradgynlais, there are two bedrooms, and a glamping pod, at this B&B. Built around 1805, Little London Wales was used as a temporary home by sheep drovers to rest their flocks on the way to the London markets. Originally there were around 70 of these throughout England and Wales and many, like this Llundain Fach, still exist today.

Sunny Bank Guest House
Tenby. Tenby is a charming town with its cobbled streets, quaint little shops and cafes and this five bedroom B&B is right in the heart of it and a couple of minutes' walk from the beach and harbour.

Craig-Y-Mor
St Davids. This is the most westerly B&B in Wales. It's set on a smallholding and has three suites with views either over Whitesands Bay or the Tywyn towards Ramsey Island.

Y Garth
Fishguard. Located near Newport Pembrokeshire, this three bedroom 5* boutique B&B offers luxury romantic breaks and is popular with walkers. Not far from the beach and convenient for the glorious Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.

Ael y Bryn
Cardigan. In a lovely rural location a few miles south of Cardigan, this 5 star bed & breakfast has four luxurious rooms, gardens, conservatory, music room/lounge and a dining hall. Evening meals by arrangement - bring your own wine.

The Coach House
Brecon. Six individually designed double rooms await you here in the heart of Brecon and the glorious Brecon Beacons. The extensive, award-winning breakfast menu includes Welsh rarebit made with local beer, and vegan banana Welsh pancakes alongside the Full Welsh and good old bacon sandwiches. Champagne, flowers and chocolates can be in your room when you arrive, packed lunches can be provided too.

Camden Lodge
Brecon. A few minutes' walk from the centre of Brecon, as well as the five bedroom B&B there's a one bedroom self-catering cottage with its own parking and a bike store.

The Town House at Brecon
Brecon. Right in the centre of Brecon, art and elegance abound in the three bedrooms and the guest lounge at this 5-star B&B. Great base for walking in the Beacons or if you prefer, the Brecon Mountain Railway is wonderfully scenic.

New White Lion
Llandovery. Five individually designed rooms inspired by local Welsh characters & folklore, a hearty breakfast and, for that special treat, you can book a Welsh afternoon tea - including bara brith and Welsh cakes of course - with Champagne or Prosecco as an option. Yum.

Elan Valley Hotel
Rhayader. The hotel sits in a beautiful location in the heart of the glorious Elan Valley. The rooms are named after the dams and the submerged village. The bar and restaurant are residents only so are also assured to be 18+. Looks like a really nice place.

The Old Vicarage
Llangurig. Near Llanidloes and twenty five miles east of Aberystwyth, this four star Victorian house B&B has a guest lounge with an honesty bar and a sun terrace on which to sip something cool. The Elan Valley Dams are half an hour away and well worth a visit.

Eithinog Hall
Welshpool. A few miles west of Welshpool there are three spacious and rather splendid rooms at the Hall. His and hers hand basins, a bath with a view, tranquil garden, freshly squeezed juices, homemade preserves - just browsing the website is a joy.

Lawrenny Lodge
Barmouth. Near to Barmouth Bridge - it's a railway bridge you can walk or cycle across - there are eight bedrooms in a quiet location. For the energetic Llyn Cynwch and Precipice Walk at Dolgellau aren't far away.

Estuary Lodge Motel
Harlech. This clean and tidy retro American-style motel a mile or so outside Harlech has eight ground floor rooms with parking outside your room. Breakfast in the bright and airy dining room.

Plas Tan-Yr-Allt
Porthmadog. There are three beautifully furnished luxury double bedrooms at this country house hotel set in its own well kept grounds. Breakfast in the dining room overlooking the Glaslyn Estuary and perhaps dinner in the award-winning Y Sgwar restaurant a ten minute walk away.

Firgrove Country House
Ruthin. The listed Grade II Georgian house just outside Ruthin affords an elegant country house experience. Dinner is an option. One of the three rooms is a suite with a lounge and small kitchen suitable for preparing light suppers: B&B and self catering combined.

Ty Cornel
Llanrwst. In the traditional Welsh village of Trefriw in Snowdonia this three bedroom B&B was built in the 1600s and doubles as the village post office. The village may be small but it boasts two pubs, a brasserie and a restaurant.

Oakenholt Farm
Flint. Adults only hotels in Wales are havens of peace, tranquil refuges from the madding crowd and their maddening children. On a 20 acre sheep farm in a gorgeous rural location, there are six comfortable bedrooms, a lovely beamed guest lounge and a spacious garden in which to relax on summer days. Long term guests also welcome.

Bodelwyddan Castle Hotel
Bodelwyddan. A Victorian castle between Snowdonia and the sea. Choose a four-poster room or perhaps a garden lodge room. Archery, croquet, putting, swimming, live shows - there's plenty to do.

Pier Hotel
Rhyl. Popular with touring theatre casts, tourists and business people, some working shifts, this B&B has a bar and is close to the beach and the Events Arena.

Bryn Derwen Guest House
Conwy. Half a mile from Conwy Castle, this six bedroom B&B has its own car park and is a handy base for Llandudno, Llanfairfechan and Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Glan y Mor Hotel
Llandudno. A B&B on the promenade with a bar lounge sporting locally brewed beer along with wines and spirits.

Adcote House Guest House
Llandudno. A stylish B&B an easy walk from the sea front with rooms and also suites with separate sitting rooms.

The Elm Tree
Llandudno. This highly-rated, small hotel is right by Great Orme and the tramway and has super views over Llandudno Bay. For dinner there are several restaurants nearby.

Plas Gorwelion
Llandudno. Room only, but what rooms: seven rather splendid kingsized suites each with a lounge/seating area and tea and snack-making facilities. A garden area in which to relax and enjoy the views. On West Parade a two minute walk from the beach.

The Kendrick
Llandudno. Right on the promenade and bigger than it looks, there are nine good-sized bedrooms and a bar. Rooms at the front have unobstructed view over the sea.

The View
Llandudno. Nestling at the base of the Great Orme, this licensed four star guest house has ten bedrooms and is handy for attractions such as the cable car and pier.

Between The Bays
Llandudno. Located midway between the North and West Shores, there are five rooms at this award-winning B&B. Close to the pier - the longest in Wales - and the cable car - the longest in the UK.

Victoria House
Caernarfon. Close to Caernarfon Castle, the four double rooms have TVs featuring Chromecast which allows streaming from your own device. Pubs and restaurants within walking distance, and it's a fifteen minute drive to the Menai Bridge.

Tyn Llain
Cemaes Bay. A couple of miles from Cemaes Bay in the north of Anglesey on a six acre smallholding there are three bedrooms, homemade cake and you're welcome to bring your own wine, ice buckets available.

What's your definition of 'adults only'?
By adults only we mean places that only allow people aged 16 and over on the premises, many have a higher age limit, usually 18+.

What do hotels mean when they classify themselves as adults only?
A hotels or B&B just saying it's 'adults only' is meaningless as that might mean anything from 5+ to 25+. So if a hotel or B&B just says 'adults only' we contact them and ask what they mean and only list them if the hotel is at least 16+.
